Privacy policy

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is metz systems GmbH, Hohe Straße 7, 92245 Kümmersbruck, Germany, phone +49 9624 922343-0, email info@metz-group.de.

2. Summary

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools, embeds no social media plugins and loads no third-party content. The font used is stored locally on our server; no connection is made to Google or other font providers when the page is loaded.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When the website is accessed, the server processes technically necessary data in log files: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. Processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and stable operation of the website. Log files are deleted or anonymised after a short period. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host.

4. Contact by email, phone and enquiry form

If you use the enquiry form, your details (name, company, email, phone, topic, message and optionally uploaded files) are transmitted in encrypted form to our server at STRATO and forwarded from there by email to the responsible contact person. The data is not stored permanently on the web server. To protect against spam, the form contains a security question and a hidden check field; no third-party services and no cookies are used for this. If you contact us by email or phone, we likewise process your details (such as name, company, contact data, content of the enquiry and attached documents) to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data is deleted once the enquiry has been fully processed, unless statutory retention obligations apply. We treat technical documents confidentially and will conclude a non-disclosure agreement on request.

5. Recipients of data

Your enquiry is handled exclusively by the responsible staff of metz systems GmbH. Where the involvement of another metz group company is required (for example for engineering, purchasing or production), we pass on the necessary details within the group; the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest being the shared handling of customer enquiries. Beyond that, data is only received by technical service providers who support us in operating the website and email (hosting and email), on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Data is never passed on for advertising purposes or sold.

6. Transfers to third countries

The website itself does not transfer any personal data to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. Our host’s servers are located in Germany.

7. Downloads and external links

Certificates and the supplier self-assessment are provided as PDFs directly from our own server; downloading them only involves the log data listed in section 3. Links to the websites of the metz group companies, to our terms and conditions and to Google Maps (directions) open in a new window. Data such as your IP address is only transmitted to the respective provider when you click such a link; that provider’s privacy policy then applies. Simply visiting our pages does not load any content from these providers.

8. Obligation to provide data

You can use this website without providing any personal data. Information in the enquiry form is voluntary; however, we cannot process your enquiry without the fields marked as required (name, email, message).

9. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR, takes place.

10. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR). To exercise these rights, contact info@metz-group.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.

11. Right to object

You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing of your data based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. An informal message to info@metz-group.de is sufficient.

12. Data protection contact

For any questions about data protection, please contact: metz systems GmbH, Josef Metz (Managing Director), Hohe Straße 7, 92245 Kümmersbruck, Germany, info@metz-group.de. There is no obligation to appoint a data protection officer.

13. Encryption

For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser’s address bar. The enquiry form and uploaded files are also transmitted in encrypted form only.

14. Changes to this privacy policy

We update this privacy policy when the website or legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
