Why metz systems

Four reasons that make the difference in procurement

What you get from us when you place a complex assembly — not just a cut part.

One order instead of four

Cutting, forming, welding, machining, measuring and assembly all run at one site. You place the assembly, not six separate steps — and you carry no interfaces between suppliers.

Documented quality

3D measurement reports, welding records to ISO 3834-2 and EN 15085-2 CL2, first article inspection reports. The evidence your audit requires is ready on delivery.

Engineering included

Our design engineers review every enquiry for manufacturability and propose savings. No drawing? A sample is enough — we model it and supply the data package.

European supply chain

Production in Kümmersbruck, raw material from Europe. Short transport routes, reliable lead times and a contact in your time zone — even for urgent needs.

Technologies & products

Open EV charging pedestal by metz systems for Hardy Barth: steel housing with door, pre-installed DIN rails and earth lead

EV charging pedestals & columns

Free-standing charging solutions for Hardy Barth — a pedestal as the base for a wallbox and a charging column with up to four charging points at one location. DIN rails, RCD/MCB and surge protection pre-installed, less civil works. Laser-cut, press-braked, welded, coated and assembled in-house.

Sheet cutting at metz systems: marking a laser-cut part

Sheet metal cutting

Straight from the 12 kW fibre laser into downstream processing: every cut part is marked, scribed and inspected before it moves on to bending or welding. Each part stays traceable through to the finished assembly — sheet thicknesses from 0.5 to 8 mm, formats up to 2,500 × 1,250 mm, in steel, stainless steel and aluminium.

Toolmaking at metz systems: finishing a forming tool

Toolmaking

Forming, punching and inspection tools are built in our own toolroom. Toolmakers and production work side by side — corrections after the first sample part are made in hours rather than weeks. The result: series parts that are dimensionally accurate from the very first piece, and short paths for every change.

Fixture building at metz systems: toggle clamps on a welding fixture

Fixture building

Every welded assembly gets its own fixture — designed and built in-house. Toggle clamps, stops and reference points define the position of every single part so seams are placed repeatably and distortion stays low. The same fixtures later serve as inspection gauges in series production.

Processes in detail

Capacities, materials and typical parts

From cutting through forming and welding to documented measurement — all processes at one site in Kümmersbruck.

Forming tool in the press at metz systems — forming and bending with tools from our own toolroom
Process 01

Tube bending

CNC-controlled bending machines form tubes and profiles in several planes — even with tight radii and short leg lengths. In mandrel bending, an internal tool supports the tube wall so the cross-section stays round and no wrinkles form. This is the basis for leak-tight lines and load-bearing frame structures.

Control
CNC, multiple bending planes per part
Process
Mandrel bending for small radii, wrinkle-free bends
Materials

Process 02

Tube laser cutting

Three tube lasers, including fully automated systems with bar magazine: contours, notches, holes and tab-and-slot joints are produced in a single pass. Where parts used to be drilled, sawn and aligned, the tube now leaves the machine ready for joining — shortening lead times and making welds reproducible.

Process 03

Laser cutting and press braking

A 12 kW fibre laser cuts large-format sheets with high edge quality — including stainless steel and aluminium, with no rework on the cut edge. Directly afterwards, a 120 t press brake bends over the full length. Cutting and forming stay under one roof — no transport and no scheduling between two suppliers.

MIG, MAG, TIG and laser welding — robotic for series, manual for one-offs and large assemblies. Certification to DIN EN ISO 3834-2 and EN 15085-2 CL2 covers qualified welding procedures, certified welders and a welding coordinator. Every assembly gets its own fixture from our toolroom so positioning and seams remain reproducible.

Supply Chain Management

Because good decisions start with clear data

For us, purchasing is not an administrative task but a strategic instrument. We work long-term with selected suppliers who share our standards for quality, innovation and on-time delivery.

We expect our partners to have certified ISO 9001 quality management, technical advice, electronic data interchange, compliance and sustainable manufacturing processes.

About us
metz group

Made in Bavaria.
For the whole world.

As part of the metz group, we draw on the expertise of several companies — metal, foam, textiles and logistics. Components arrive ready to install from one source, not from four supply chains.
